Facebook will now automatically select your reaction to a post.

In order to wield a more positive experience, Facebook will now automatically select your reaction to a post. The “Like” button is being renamed “React” and will automatically select the acceptable reaction for the content of the post, based on your profile and a few other undisclosed factors. Upon clicking react, the user will be unable to un-react. Facing backlash for the spontaneous positive user reactions to the news, of which Facebook users were unable to "react" negatively, the company is defending their decision by saying the algorithm would have chosen the correct reaction in the first place and it should not need to be changed.

Users will also be given the option to enable auto-react, which will automatically react to any post viewed for more than 2 seconds. Facebook says this change will aid in fighting hate speech and the spreading of false information by implementing more progressive controls.
